Emergency Services in Dumfries have been dealing with a fire at commercial premises in Howgate Street, Dumfries since the early hours of this moring Monday the 7th of November.
As a consequence of this Howgate Street and Galloway Street, Dumfries are closed to traffic at this time and likely to remain so until after the morning commute to work.
Please avoid Galloway Street and Howgate Street areas and if travelling over Buccleuch Street bridge into town, or along Terregles Street expect delays. Avoid the area if possible.
Although Fire Service has the blaze contained at this time, residents in this area are asked to remain within their houses and keep their doors and windows closed.
