Carlisle Firefighters have issued a warning via social media to drivers after an incident on the M6 between Carlisle and Gretna this morning 25/06/21 caused a car to hit a safety fence and flip over.
Crews from both Carlisle West and Carlisle East Fire Station attended the reported Road Traffic Collision on the M6 northbound between Carlisle and Gretna.
A Spokesperson stated “Crews found a vehicle had left the carriageway and hit the acoustic safety fence, flipping the vehicle onto its roof.
Thankfully the driver escaped with only minor/superficial injuries.
The cause is under investigation at this time so we cannot speculate as to how it occurred.
We would like to take the opportunity to remind people to drive to the conditions and adhere to the legal obligations of driving at all times.”
