Joint Funding Roadshow

Last Thursday, the McMillan Hall, Newton Stewart saw the annual Joint Funding Roadshow for Wigtownshire which was organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council and Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway attract over 100 delegates to visit the various funders who were there to offer advice and guidance on their funding streams.

The successful event featured a range of presentations including “5 Top Tips to Making Better Funding Applications” by the Institute of Fundraising along with more from the Robertson Trust, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Holywood Trust, The Plunkett Foundation, the Big Lottery and also Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage. One to One sessions were also offered by the Wigtownshire Sports Council, Leader, Sports Scotland, Timebanking, CARES ( Community Renewable Energy Scheme) and Dumfries and Galloway Council to any organisations who wished to attend along with the opportunity to discuss how projects could be funded by drop in.
All of the funders on the day were incredibly happy with the large turnout which highlighted the range and value of the voluntary sector within Wigtownshire. Chair of the Wigtown Area Committee Marion McCutcheon noted “Our Council is delighted to again work with Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway to organise the Joint Funding Roadshow. The co-ordination of these events between our two organisations helps to highlight the importance of joint working and how much we value supporting organisations in their search for funding for their projects”.
