A Most Amazing Concert
A most amazing concert was held last week in the Kirkcudbright Primary School Hall, thanks to the recently announced partnership between Kirkcudbright Rotary and the Academy and the close relationship the Rotary Club has with the primary schools. There were performances by over one hundred young people from the five local primary schools and from the Academy. A capacity audience were entertained by various choirs, junior tin whistle and ukulele bands, solo artists on guitar, drums, piano, and flute. There were combos on keyboards, xylophones and glockenspiels, and vocalists and even a staff choir drawn from the Academy and Primary schools!
Everyone present was full of admiration for the performers and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Apart from the fun and showcasing the talent of our local young people, the concert was held to raise awareness of Rotary in the town and also to highlight what is being done to eradicate Polio from the world.
Kirkcudbright Rotary is extremely grateful for the vast amount of work put into the preparation for this event by teachers Kate Picken and Hannah Gill. Their energy and enthusiasm was very evident in what was done and by the way the performers rose to the occasion – the town is most fortunate to have these talented people in our schools.
