KIRKCUDBRIGHT ROTARY CLUB HOLDS 9th DUCK RACE

The Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright held it’s 9th Annual Duck Race on Sunday 21st August.

Over 1,300 ducks took part this year with the winner being Bruce Lunn and daughter Erin. Bruce and family from Falkirk are regular visitors to Kirkcudbright and enjoyed an exciting afternoon down by the river.

Following  on from the main race the Corporate  Duck Race took place with over 80 entries. The Corporate Ducks are decorated larger ducks which have been entered by local businesses, Rotarians and friends. This year the race was won by Tim Payne with his duck named Quackers. Tim is an Australian who has been living in Kirkcudbright for a few months with a view to settling in the town.

In addition to money prizes, this is the first year that we have presented a Trophy and Medals – all of which have been donated to the Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright. We hope to continue this theme in future.
