The Stranraer office of local MP Russell Brown is ready for the Queen’s Baton when it comes to town on the 19 June.
As part of the local celebrations to welcome the baton to Stranraer, there is a window dressing competition for local shops and businesses and Russell Brown’s office is taking part with the display in the window celebrating the Commonwealth Games. The display shows all the flags of the nations that make up the Commonwealth as well as podium with the relevant medals.
Russell Brown said:
“I thought it only right that my office take part in the window dressing competition. Myself and a member of staff worked on the design. I am not sure if we will win but I will keep my fingers crossed.”
Talking about the Queen’s Baton Relay, Russell said:
“Everyone across the region is excited for the Queen’s Baton Relay. Nothing shows this more than the list of activities that are planned at every stop. It is going to allow local people to feel part of the Games.”
