MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED DURING ASSAULT AT A STRANRAER CARAVAN PARK

SERIOUS ASSAULT

Police Scotland are currently investigating a serious assault which took place on a 51 year old man at the Ryan Bay Caravan Park, Innermessan, Stranraer. The assault took place at around 2120 hours on Tuesday 4 November 2014. The victim was attacked outside his caravan on the site by the following described two men. He was punched and kicked to the ground and has received injuries consistent with a bladed implement being used. The victim was taken to the Galloway Community Hospital where he was treated for what are described as serious but not life threatening injuries.

The two attackers are described as (1) Male, about 6’1” tall, wearing a dark coloured hooded top. (2) Male, about 5’9” tall, wearing dark coloured clothing with what is described as having a hood which was up.

Detective Inspector Bryan Lee says “whilst this is a rare type of attack for the area, it was clearly a vicious and sustained attack on the victim which has put him in hospital with some serious injuries. We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area, or who may have any information about this attack to get in touch with Police Scotland at Stranraer through our 101 number, or if they want to remain anonymous, through Crimestoppers on 08900 555 111.
