POLICE officers from Dumfries Community Policing Unit along with The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service were called out to attend to a small fire at the old Maxwelltown High School in Dumfries yesterday, Sunday the 6th of October.
The fire was discover quickly and was put out.
A police Spokesperson said “Early enquires suggest local children may have been responsible. This type of behaviour is extremely dangerous to not only those involved but also passersby & the emergency services. Fortunately no one was injured on this occasion.
Please advise your children of the dangers of entering disused buildings and lighting fires.”
