The Galloway Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Monday Night, October 14th 2019 at 11.10pm to locate a missing walker and his two pet dogs who had set out on a walk taking in Lamachan and Curleywee in the Galloway hills.
A Spokesperson for GMRT Stated “Accompanied by his two pet dogs, the walker Became disorientated on his descent to Caldons and called for assistance. The gentleman was contacted on his mobile phone and a grid reference obtained allowing the team to quickly locate him and his dogs and assist them back to the walker’s vehicle at 00.16 hours. The walker had the good sense to acknowledge when he became disorientated and acted correctly in remaining calm, calling for help and staying in position until help arrived.”
