MOFFAT HIGH STREET JEWELLERS STAFF LEFT TRAUMATISED AFTER SHOP ROBBED

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a jewellery shop in Dumfries and Galloway on Wednesday 22 July 2015.

Around 1245 hours this afternoon, two men entered Gemini Jewellers in High Street, Moffat, and stole a significant quantity of jewellery (rings) with an estimated four figure sum value.

The first man is described as white, 5ft 10 in height, between 40 and 45 years old, slim, clean shaven and has a red complexion. He was wearing a brown flat cap and a short brown jacket. He also spoke with a Glasgow accent.

The second man is described as white, 5ft 10, between 40 and 45 years old, with dark brown curly hair and a protruding lower jaw. He had a scruffy appearance and was wearing a black jacket, jeans and silver rimmed glasses.

Detective Constable Garry Duguid, Annan CID, said:

“Thankfully, nobody was hurt during this incident, however, it was a very traumatic experience for the staff involved.

“The incident happened around lunchtime so I am sure there would have been a number of people about at that time.

“If you were there, or you recognise the descriptions of the men involved, or indeed, have any information that will help our enquiries, then please contact officers at Annan Police Office either via 101 or CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
