The club are pleased to announce that our first venture into the music business has been a success. Thousands partied at Palmerston as they enjoyed Big Country and Reef belt out their hits before headline act Status Quo had them rocking.
The concert was the first such event staged by the club, but we’re so delighted with the way it went that it’s likely to the first of many.
Chairman Billy Hewitson said “We’re delighted, I’m happy with the way things went. When we announced the concert we said we had a facility that we need to utilise and having watched the transition of Palmerston from a football stadium to a concert venue with three top bands taking to the stage, showed that we were right. The infrustructure is there and with a bit of hard work and determination we’ve shown that we have the perfect outdoor facility within Dumfries”.
Commercial manager, Victoria Thomson added “It’s been months of hard work, but it was worth the effort. It proved to be a fantastic night and lived up to be more than we expected it to be. For our first venture into the music business, we are delighted with the way it went. It’s hard to know what to expect when you do something for the first time, but people really embraced it and backed the event. It’s great for the club but it’s allowed us to reach out to the whole community which is important. We’ve had great feed back, a very positive response and everyone who attended were in great spirits and had a good time, there was such a buzz about the place, the atmosphere was tremendous and so relaxed and friendly. A huge thanks to all those who helped us make it such a success”.
