On Saturday 11th November 2023 from 14:00 to 16:00 an official launch event will take place at the Nith Inshore Rescue Lifeboat Station in Glencaple.
A number of friends, partners, supporters and dignitaries from across the Community will be involved in the event which will see the formal introduction, into service, of:
A new Ineos Grenadier 4×4 vehicle and the fully refurbished lifeboat “St John”
Representatives from the various companies involved in the purchase, conversion and refurbishment of these vital assets will also be present.
The costs for the purchase of the Grenadier were funded by the Coastal Communities Fund and St John Scotland, with the costs of the refurbishment of lifeboat (originally also paid for by St John Scotland) funded by the Coast Communities Fund and Annandale & Nithsdale Community Benefit Company.
Without this significant financial support these projects would not have been possible.
