Police Scotland officers hunting for those responsible for the ATM raid in Langholm in the early hours of Friday 11 November 2016 want to thank the public for their response to the appeal for information relating to the case.
Detective Inspector Scott Young said “the response from the public, both local and from those out with the Langholm area has been magnificent over the past few days. Information received through the media appeal and our own Facebook page has brought in a lot of useful information and I would urge the public to keep this up.
In particular I am still keen to hear about any sightings of the green Landrover Defender which was seen leaving the scene of the crime around 0140 hours on Friday morning. The Landrover was later found burnt out south of the town. We are also keen to hear from any drivers who perhaps drove through Langholm High Street between 2300 hours on Thursday night and 0140 hours on Friday morning, and likewise anyone who perhaps was walking in the High Street area.
We are also keen to hear about any suspicious activity in the town in the days leading up to this crime as this could be vital in helping catch those responsible. Officers are still busy on this investigation and we are currently following a number of leads.”
