POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED BREAK-INS AT ANNAN

Attempted break-ins – St Columba’s, Annan

Police Scotland is investigating two attempted break-ins, one to the play group and one to the church at St Columba’s in Scotts Street in Annan sometime over the weekend. Sometime between Thursday 16 and Sunday 19 July an attempt was made to break-in to the church itself, and although entry was not gained, extensive damage was caused to a door in the attempt. In another incident, an attempt was made to break-in to the playgroup building and again although no entry was gained, damage was caused to the building.

Constable Richard Davidson of Police Scotland at Annan said “it very much looks like these crimes are linked and determined efforts were made to gain entry to buildings. In particular the attempt at the church is likely to have caused a fair amount of noise and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch with us at Annan through 101.”
