POLICE INVESTIGATE SECOND RAID ON MOFFAT JEWELERS

A large quantity of jewellery including 9 carat gold bracelets and gold coloured Celtic design rings have been stolen from the shop premises of Gemini Jewellers in High Street, Moffat, at around 1345 hours/1400 hours on Thursday 24 September 2015.

The value of the property stolen is in the region of £5000. Police Scotland want to speak to the following described man who was seen in the shop around the time the theft took place. He is described as being white, about 6′ tall, medium build, about 55/60 years of age, short clipped grey hair and had acne scars on his face. He wore gold/silver rimmed glassed and was wearing a navy checked tartan flat cap and a long dark navy waxed jacket. He spoke with a Glasgow accent.

Detective Constable Gary Duguid of Police Scotland said “this is the second high value theft from these premises in a few months. In July a tray of rings valued at over £5000 was stolen. We are asking the public to call us if the description of this man rings a bell or they can help identify him, or any vehicle he might have been travelling in. We can be contacted through the usual 101 number.
