Dumfries and Galloway College Principal, Joanna Campbell, has welcomed the official launch of the South of Scotland Enterprise Agency.
In her remarks welcoming the launch, the Principal praised the establishment of the agency as indicative of the dynamic environment in the South of Scotland and expressed her desire to see the college collaborate fully with the organisation.
The agency will be responsible for promoting growth and employment across Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders.
The South of Scotland college has already benefited from the agency, thanks to the its South of Scotland Economic Partnership’s (SoSEP) £6.6million investment in a state-of-the-art Digital Hub which was launched at the college’s Dumfries campus by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, John Swinney MSP, in February 2020.
Working with the agency represents Dumfries and Galloway College’s commitment to working proactively with stakeholders across the South of Scotland to ensure that the region has the skills, resources, and vision that it needs to thrive.
Principal Joanna Campbell said:
“I am happy to welcome the official launch of the South of Scotland Enterprise Agency.
“The arrival of this new body is a clear sign that the South of Scotland has a bright future and is one of the most dynamic places in the country to live, study, and work.
“Dumfries and Galloway College looks forward to working with the agency to promote the beautiful region of Scotland that we’re lucky to call home.”
