Stranraer Lifeboat Crew and several local Coastguard teams were called out and launched on Service at 11.00pm last night Wednesday the 15th of May 2019 on request of Belfast Coastguard to reports off person in water in area of Sandhead.
Stranraer Infaltable Life Boat crew report that they arrived at Sandhead beach where the casualty was spotted in the water by the Police. The RNLI crew evacuated the casualty from the water and handed the person into the care of Coastguard Rescue Teams from Portpatrick Stranraer, Drummore & Ballantrae which carried out first aid on the lady until ambulance arrived.
The RNLI stood by until the ambulance arrived to take the causaulty to hospital.The RNLI boat from Stranraer then returned to the station and was made ready for service.
