At around 9.00pm last night, Sunday February 5th2017, Emergency services, including Police, Fire and rescue and Inshore Rescue Boat were notified and called to assist in a search and rescue as there was a report of a person in river Nith, Dumfries.
Nith Inshore Rescue reported that they launched their boat to search downstream and their team joined the foot search upstream.
Emergency teams including the Coast Guard 999 rescue helicopter worked on until after 1.00 am but then Stood down .
Nith Inshore rescue reported at 5:45am Monday 6th of February, that they are preparing to launch again to continue the search for a missing person at first light.
