SECOND WARD CLOSES AT DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY ROYAL INFIRMARY DUE TO NOROVIRUS

Wards 12 and 18 at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary are currently closed due to confirmed Norovirus infection. A total of 19 patients and three members of staff have been affected since Friday 1 May.

Reports from the community indicate that this viral infection is circulating throughout Dumfries and Galloway at this time.

The Infection Control Team is monitoring the situation, and visitor restrictions are in place on affected wards. Members of the public who have symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea are asked not to visit the hospital until 48 hours after symptoms have resolved.
