DUMFRIES ICE BOWL based Solway Stars have been selected to represent Great Britain at the Leon Lurje Synchronised Skating Competition in Gothenburg, Sweden in January 2018. The team will skate in Junior ISU category and are hoping to move one step closer in their quest to qualify for the Junior World Synchronised Skating Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. They will be accompanied by their Lead Coach Philip Carter.
Solway Skating Clubs Synchro Development Officer Anne Marie Wood said that the Club are very grateful to John Martin of Brownriggs Coaches in Thornhill who has kindly agreed to transport the team to and from Glasgow Airport. The team face an expensive season ahead and are very grateful to all sponsors and funders including Holywood Trust and Brownriggs.
John Martin from Brownriggs said “I am delighted to be able to support these young athletes, they work very hard for their successes and I wanted to recognise this by helping them on their way to Sweden”
