STRANRAER PENSIONER NAMED AS VICTIM OF WEEKEND A75 FATAL ROAD COLLISION

As a result of a two vehicle road crash at around 11.15 hours on Saturday 21 March 2015, on the A75 road near Eastriggs, Dumfries and Galloway, a 67 year old woman, Margaret Deacon, from Leswalt, Stranraer, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash involved two vans, one a white coloured Renault Traffic van and the other a white coloured Mercedes Sprinter van. The dead woman was a passenger in the Mercedes van. Another passenger in this van, a 42 year old woman from Kirkcolm, was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury where she is currently being treated.

A full road crash investigation was carried out at the time and the road was closed and diversions put in place.

Sergeant Billy Broatch from the Trunk Road Policing Group of Police Scotland is appealing for anyone who may have been on the road at this time to get in touch through 101 if they have any information which may assist with the investigation.
