Teenager Dies After Being Found Unconscious – Moffat

POLICE Report that at around 8.48pm on Monday 5 March 2018 emergency services were contacted after a 17 year old male was found unconscious at an address in Moffat.

The male was removed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where he was later pronounced dead. Enquiries into the death, which is being treated as suspicious are at an early stage. Police Officers are currently at the scene in Moffat High Street and a full investigation is underway.

Local Policing Commander Chief Inspector Stephen Stiff said “at this stage we are dealing with the tragic death of a 17 year old man in Moffat. Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the town, including door to door enquiries. I would like to take this opportunity to reassure the local community in Moffat that there is no danger to the public as a consequence of this incident. Officers will be in and around the Moffat area carrying out related enquiries and patrols are ongoing in support of the local community at this time. Anyone who has any concerns can speak to any of the officers who are out and about in Moffat at this time.”
