The Annual Glencaple Shore Clean-Up will take place on Sunday 17th of April.
This is usually well attended by volunteers and everyone is welcome to come along and to help clear the foreshore as much as possible of the rubbish and waste that washes up every year.
The rubbish, as well as being unsightly, creates a hazard to walkers, dogs and more so to wildlife in this area which attracts such a diverse mix of animals and birds. Many of these animals are rare or local favourites including Barnacle Geese, Natterjack Toads and Otters.
The clean up starts at the Quay End at 10:30 for a couple of hours and in that short time a huge amount can be cleared from the river banks and foreshore.
All volunteers are very welcome and are requested to meet at the Quay End in Glencaple at 10:30. Please bring gloves and appropriate clothing. All other equipment is supplied.
This event is kindly sponsored by Peter Haining Kitchens.
