Photos of Kenneth Lochhead, who is employed by Stair Estates as a dairyman, as well as his wife Lisa, and their three children, Kyle (5) Kayla (4) and Kory (6 months) are being used for a national marketing campaign, that includes both online and offline activity, to help promote Castle Kennedy Gardens and encourage more visits to the local attraction this year.
Kenneth has worked for Stair Estates for six years and the family were approached to take part in this year’s promotion of Castle Kennedy Gardens. The photoshoot was organised within the glorious location with Galloway photographer David Moses who also captured a range of photography of the delicious, new food and drink products now available from the Garden’s Tea Room, as Castle Kennedy Gardens celebrates Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink.

Photos of the local family are being used in a variety of ways to market the stunning visitor attraction with inclusion of their images in the 2015 Event Guide, an annual brochure, the new website www.castlekennedygardens.com and social media channels, facebook and twitter.

The 2015 Event Guide is being distributed this week in the local paper, with thousands of copies also being distributed in key outlets throughout Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Dumfries & Galloway and Cumbria, and shows the Lochhead family on its front page, enjoying an outdoor picnic in front of 16th century Castle Kennedy Ruins which is a most notable feature within the 75 acres of magnificent gardens promoted as a ‘hidden Scottish treasure’. The family have also been snapped at some of the other stunning locations to be found in the Gardens including the Round Pond, by blooming Rhododendron bushes and on top of the hill by the White Loch.

Kenneth Lochhead, said;
“We had great fun doing the photoshoot in Castle Kennedy Gardens which has been our home for the last six years. There are some fantastic spots around the garden which the kids love and they learn so much here. We’re delighted to help promote the Gardens and all that you can do here in the new Events Guide and through this year’s marketing campaign which aims to encourage even more visitors to this very special place during 2015.”
The Event Guide is an A5, 23 page, full colour glossy piece of print being distributed in this week’slocal paper, as well as in key outlets across Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and Cumbria. It features events throughout the season until the end of October with new events being highlighted throughout.
New for this year are many of the exciting Ranger activities, suitable for families, including den and tepee building, painting with mud and lighting and cooking on a fire. For older visitors there are new plant propagation and seed sowing sessions to help people grow their own and one of the highlights of the Garden’s event calendar – the Open air theatre – will this year host quality performances of ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ (21 July) and ‘The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes’ (6 August) against the fantastic backdrop of Castle Kennedy ruins.
