Road rescue in Dumfries and Galloway
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free two men from car lying on its roof.
Two men were taken to hospital after being rescued from an overturned car in Dumfries and Galloway on Sunday night (7 December).
The incident took place around 9:30pm on the M74 between J18 Lockerbie South and J19 Ecclefechan.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were mobilised from Annan and Lockerbie following a call to Operations Control for Police Scotland.
Watch Manager John Irvine, the incident commander, said: “The vehicle was lying on its roof at the bottom of an embankment and firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the men.
“We were working closely with paramedics throughout the operation and after the casualties were released they were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for a precautionary check.”
