POLICE Officers in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway are appealing for the community to help identify those responsible for an act of vandalism at the arts installation at the towns harbour.
About 1pm on Tuesday 23 October 2018 a complaint was made to police that the wicker statue of the horse and police phone box in the town had been vandalised. Enquires so far suggest this may have occurred on the previous evening (Monday night).
Inspector Gavin McHallum said “it seems incredible and very sad that anyone would willfully damage these pieces of art. The community will be rightly outraged by this act and I would ask that anyone who has any information about who carried out this act of vandalism to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting the reference 1567 of 23rd October 2018”
