Vanishing Rescue Cat Re-united With Family After 7 Months Missing in Kirkcudbright

In October 2017 DGWGO reported a story about a rescue cat called “Freyawho went missing while on a visit to the vet in Kirkcudbright on the 18th of July 2017. Freya was rescued by the Muir family when they found her as an abused stray on the streets of Avsallar in Turkey 4 years ago. Whilst on a routine visit to the vets in Kirkcudbright she escaped when they took her into the back room and was never seen again.

An online appeal was launched by the Muir’s for the safe return of their beloved cat, The local press and media also got involved by sharing the story.

But Today almost 7 months later the Muir Family contacted DGWGO with good news, they never lost hope and had continued searching for all this time and today they found her and she is home again safe and sound.

The Muirs Said “She turned up in Bridge St., Kirkcudbright and a woman kindly started feeding her,. The lady thought she looked like the photo she had seen of Freya online and contacted us. That was two days ago and today we brought her home. She seems none the worse for the wear. She’s grown a dense winter coat and is otherwise healthy.”
They Continued “Thanks so much for your help. If it hadn’t been for people tirelessly keeping her photo online, this lady probably would never have thought to connect this stray cat with us.”
