A Spokes person from Soul Soup told DGWGO Friday Focus ” On Monday 20th March Soul Soup Broadcasts on (ITV Border NEWS) at 6pm. This will showcase our project, “Art and Soul”.
We hope to use the funds to set up and run the upcycling project where they will acquire forgotten unwanted furniture and other everyday objects and transform them in to lovable and needed belongings. Young people will take part in practical tasks and identify items to upcycle and sell.
As well as using their creativity to upcycle the items themselves, young people also want to address the stigma around mental health through their own art, poetry and inspirational insight in mental health issues. This will boost their skills, help their confidence and improve their wellbeing”
