Calling all budding photographers…do you have what it takes to be 2015’s ‘WickerSnapper?’
The Wickerman Festival is once again looking for an ambitious amateur photographer who is interested in documenting this year’s Festival, which takes place on the 24th and 25th July. The WickerSnapper competition is offering one talented individual the unique opportunity to become an official event photographer, capturing Wickerman’s red hot line-up, much loved on-site attractions and unique family friendly vibe.
Thousands of festival lovers are set to swarm the Wickerman fields in Dumfries and Galloway in just over a month’s time to witness what promises to be Scotland’s hottest summer party. This year’s line-up will feature a wide range of breath-taking acts, including The Waterboys, Tom Odell, Squeeze, Example & DJ Wire, Lulu, Jimmy Cliff, The Sonics and John Cooper Clarke amongst others.
DGWGO’s Very own RB will be one of the judges on the panel for the third year running , RB said ” it’s really a huge honor to be invited to judge the Wickersnapper competition for the third year running ,although judging is tough , its been great fun over the last couple of years, Im really looking forward to seeing the entries for 2015. As a photographer myself for DGWGO , I love being in the Press pit at festivals and being able to get close to the action with my camera , not only do you get to see amazing bands close up , but the crowd is brilliant to photograph to and always really friendly and keen to be in a shot or two.”
So, whether you are still learning your craft or about to start your own photography career, send us three of your best photos that demonstrate your eye for detail and creativity and a much sought after pass could be yours. Our winner will be announced on 9th July and all photographs captured will be showcased following the festival.

Terms and Conditions
Entrants should submit:
• A minimum of three pieces of photography which show versatility, creativity and professional technique must be submitted to the festival for review
• And complete the statement “I should be the Wicker Snapper because…” (no more than 150 words)
All entries should be submitted to [email protected] by 7th July
The winner will receive:
• Access to the festival for all three days (Thursday – Sunday) under an official Wickerman Festival pass
• Camping access
• Meal Tickets
• Their photography used on the Wickerman website and where possible in media (although this will depend on the quality of the shots)
• A pair of adult weekend tickets to the Wickerman Festival 2016
The winner will be chosen by The Wickerman Festival and local photographer Robin Baird of DGWGO and R.B photography , whose decision is final
