POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a report of a theft from Agnew Park, Stranraer, about 2.15 pm on Sunday 9th February.
A woman was walking her dog near the ticket office at Sheuchan Lane, Stranraer, when a male approached her and began to walk alongside her.
She then felt something touch her back but on looking round, did not see anything or anyone and the male had disappeared.
A few minutes later the woman realised her handbag was missing: a small, square cross body bag, brown in colour, which contained money and dog biscuits.
She had worn the bag across her body and did not feel it being removed from her person.
The male who approached the woman is described as follows:
Late 20’s,
Slim build,
About 6 ft in height,
Appeared unwashed but clean shaven,
Wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up and dark jogging bottoms or possibly jeans,
Having a Scottish accent,
Having slow speech as if he was under the influence of something or had learning difficulties,
May have had a green bike although the bike was not seen by the woman.
