Police and other emergency services are currently dealing with what is now a fatal road crash on the A76 road about five miles south of Mennock, Sanquhar. The crash happened at around 0840 hours today (Monday 8 December 2014) and involved two vehicles, a car and a Scottish Ambulance Service ambulance. At this stage one female fatality has been confirmed.
The two crew members in the ambulance, , two Patients the were transporting and a female casualty, from an earlier road crash received injuries in the crash.and taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary to be treated for their injuries
The road is currently closed at the scene and a full crash scene investigation is being carried out. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed of the circumstances
