Tonight see’s the start of the wind down of the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festivals ten day run, with events on through till Sunday they are bringing out the heavy hitters this weekend. None more so than tonight’s act, at the Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, stand up Comedian Des Clarke.
Ali Donowho from the DGWGO’s ‘Who Review’ got the chance to interview Des before his Dumfries show this evening .
Now to say he is only a stand up comedian is playing him short. Tv presenter, Radio presenter and Newspaper columnist he has proved himself to be multi faceted. From taking over the massive shoes of Ant and Dec on SM:TV Live to pitch side reporting at both the Six Nations rugby and Scotland’s Euro 2016 matches.
Ali Donowho of the DGWGO ‘Who Review’
My first memories of his comedy come from the early 2000’s BBC TV show “Live Floor Show” using his unique brand of awkward observational comedy. Having seen him on many occasions at the Fringe in Edinburgh or in Panto at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow I could not recommend him higher for some fantastic entertainment.
Below is a phone interview I had with Des.
