This July Folksy Theatre will visit the National Trust for Scotland’s Threave Garden and Estate with two of their open-air theatre productions.
Folksy Theatre’s open-air productions of ‘The Princess and The Giant’, an adaptation from a book by Caryl Hart and Shakepeare’s ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ will be performed in the grounds of Threave Garden and Estate in July.
One for little kids and big kids alike, ‘The Princess and The Giant’ will be performed on 13 July at 2pm. This out-door production will be filled with music, puppetry and wonderful characters, and promises to be a show the whole family can enjoy.
Fans of Shakepeare can enjoy one of his best loved comedies with a twist as it’s performed out-doors on 18 July at 7pm. With Folksy Theatre’s touch of live music, audience interaction and a bit of silliness added in for good measure, it’s sure to have audiences in hysterics.
Richard Polley, Dumfries and Galloway said, “The garden at Threave is one of 38 gardens and designed landscapes the National Trust for Scotland cares for. We’re delighted to welcome Folksy Theatre as we play host to their open-air productions. We’re looking forward to welcoming new visitors to our gardens who will be able to enjoy theatre performances with a difference.”
Open-air theatre goers are encouraged to bring blankets, rugs and picnics along to the performances.
