| Austrian traditional dance group Steirischer Schwung and the Thornhill Scottish Country Dancers will perform in Nithsdale this weekend:
Friday 1 July 2016, 1430 (2,.30pm): Plainstanes, High Street, Dumfries Saturday 2 July 2016, 1300 (1pm): Penpont Gala Sunday 3 July 2016, 1200 (12 noon): Thornhill Gala (opening ceremony) The groups met last year at an international folk festival in France and decided to arrange an exchange visit. Steirischer Schwung was founded in 2009 in Stiwoll, a village near Graz in south Austria. The 7 piece group performs traditional Austrian folk dances and sing. |
