Reduced Shakespeare Company the only thing reduced is the Shakespeare.
The Reduced Shakespeare Company performed their show The Complete History of Comedy tonight at the Easterbrook Hall In Dumfries as part of the 36th Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival, playing to an almost full house it was very much branded does exactly what it says on the tin. The show travels to the Ryan centre in Stranraer on Sunday the 31st of May, and in my opinion it should be a sell out,I would go back in a heartbeat to catch the jokes I missed tonight because I was laughing too much.
Without giving too much away nothing and no one is safe in this fast paced laugh a minute travel through history. With homage’s paid to some, if not most, comedy legends, every subject is up for discussion, religion, nationalities, politicians. Some can be close to the bone but take it in the light hearted fashion it’s meant and you will laugh, feel awkward laughing about it, realise you don’t really care and laugh some more.
This three man show is the perfect tonic to any weekly blues before a dreaded Monday morning, it has been on the road for five months selling out venues up and down the country, they have two shows left, take the opportunity before its gone.
