Theatrical Delights Set To Thrill at Threave Garden This Summer

 

The beautiful National Trust for Scotland’s Threave Garden is the setting for two dramatic productions over the next few weeks.

This summer Folksy Theatre will be visiting Threave Garden with an exciting open-air production of The Smartest Giant in Town on Saturday 31 July.

This musical adaptation of the well-loved book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is filled with puppetry, colourful characters and songs that will have you clapping and singing along. Join George the Giant in this heart-warming story of kindness and generosity amongst the beautiful surroundings of Threave Garden with its beautiful surroundings and rich heritage.

The performance will run from 2pm to 3pm and gates open 1 hour prior to start. Tickets cost £13.50 for adults, £8 for children and £38 for a family. Book online in advance for this special rate.

The following weekend, in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, The Festival Players Theatre Company is proud to present the Bard’s most famous play, Hamlet.

On Saturday 6 August, and in full costume, an all-male company will bring you a truly exciting performance of this popular thriller full of intrigue, passion and humour – complete with a gripping duel. This fast-paced 2 hour production begins at 7pm and tickets can be booked online.

Pack a picnic, bring along a blanket and round up friends and family to enjoy these wonderful open-air productions in a very special and magical setting. Don’t forget to dress for the weather.

Threave’s wonderful garden showcases different styles and is a fine example of landscaped beauty.
