The Youth Beatz Fringe has been planned and developed with support by a dedicated group of young people who have been participating in a capacity building and skills development training, which has developed their organising, planning and communication skills whilst working towards accredited certificates in SQA Employability Award and the Saltire Volunteer Award.
Brogan, one of the Fringe Steering Group, said: “I’ve really enjoyed being part of the planning and can’t wait to be at these events and getting young people in their communities involved in the fun.”
Councillor Jeff Leaver, chair of the CYPLL committee, and Ros Surtees, vice-chair, said “The Youth Beatz Fringe is now in its fourth year and has a fantastic range of opportunities and activities for young people all over Nithsdale to get involved in. It has been planned by an enthusiastic and passionate group of young volunteers who have put in a great deal of time and effort to see an action packed programme delivered within their communities.“
