Author of My Lucky Break – Inspiring Story Of One Woman’s Battle With Cancer
I am a new published Author, who lives in Dumfries and Galloway. Over the years I have lived in many places and after living in Canada for seven years I returned to the UK in 2005 and the Southwest of Scotland became my home.
Five years ago after meeting my partner Ronnie I moved to Dumfries. I love living in this small town where the people are friendly and the town is not as crowded as the big city centres.
Dumfries has so much to offer with its beautiful scenery of Criffel in the distance. Walking and writing are my passion and having the river Nith running through the town; Ae forest; Galloway forest and Mabie forest close by, I get to explore and take in the spectacular scenery and the peace and quiet gives me inspiration for writing my next book.
I enjoy working as a clerical officer in Dumfries Royal Infirmary and after several knee operations over the past year, I found myself with long days at home sitting in front of day time TV while I recovered. To put my time to better use I started writing the story I have been talking about writing for the past fifteen years and it’s just been launched for sale.
My book, My Lucky Break, is based on a true story after emigrating to Canada with my family. Following a skiing trip in the Canadian Rocky Mountains to celebrate the turn of the Millennium, our lives were turned upside down. The accident that followed, although horrific, was only the start of a sequence of events and battles that nobody could have predicted, of which the outcome was anything but clear.
I wanted to write this story because at the time if I didn’t listen and act on my instincts the outcome of my life might have been very different. As much as I loved writing this book I never imagined I would see it advertised along with other Authors books on Amazon.
With my vivid imagination I have already written the first chapter of my second book, a novel based on internet dating. This time it’s not based on a true story, even though I met my partner 
through a dating website.
