French tidal bore expert Antony “YEP” Colas has been studying the phenomenon for the last 20 years.
Antony is currently writing his second book about all bores in the World, and he is coming to catch and ride ( On his surf board ) The Nith Tidal Bore.
He is arriving this Sunday morning July 23rd to check the river access and locations and ride the bore. He is wondering if anybody local knows the precise time of when the bore will reach Dumfries (Kingholm Quay) on July 23?
Antony told DGWGO “I will be searching the Nith river between Glencaple and Dumfries to ride and shoot the bore. Photos will be used for my second book about all bores in the World and also for various uses on social networks and lectures. I would share the results (info / photos) of my search with anyone interested. I am looking forward meeting any other bore addict ! “
