Moore’s Fish and Chips in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, is getting ready to fire the fryers up for National Fish Friday (19th June).
National Fish Friday calls on all fish lovers & fish and chip shops from across the country hosting various events and activities to show their involvement to help the Fishermen’s Mission on its National fund raising day. It’s the day to get fishy, have fun and raise fabulous funds for our UK fishermen and their families.
The award-winning Moore’s Fish and Chips is celebrating National Fish Friday by donating £2 from All Fish Suppers & Scampi suppers (excluding Wee Fish Suppers). They are also running a Competition for customers to guess the number of fish and chip portions sold during the Day, with the lucky winner receiving a voucher for a few portions of Britain’s favourite dish, fish and chips.
Moore’s is used to frying at the top of their game and recently celebrated success as they were awarded with the prestigious National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Fish and Chip Quality Award, along with being named as the winning fish and chip shop for the Lothians, Strathclyde, Borders and Dumfries and Galloway for the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award, as part of the 2014 and 2015 National Fish & Chip Awards organised by Seafish. They also have proud place in the top 3 in the Field to Frier award in 2015
Andrew Moore, owner of Moore’s Fish and Chips, said: “Fish Friday is a great opportunity to help raise money for the Fishermen’s Mission as we are situated so close to a fishing town where the fishermen’s mission has helped family’s with the after math of tragedies at sea, and continues to support families.
