Edinburgh Food Festival Takes Over George Square Gardens
Setting the taste buds of festivalgoer’s alight, the Edinburgh Food Festival will officially launch in Assembly’s George Square Gardens tomorrow and is open for business until 2 August, midday until midnight.The event puts Dumfries and Galloway centre stage in several ways. One is that Le Haggis, the Dumfries-reared cabaret show, is holding two fabulous preview performances there before its month-long run at the Fringe.
Also, D&G producers Cream o’ Galloway and Galloway Chillies have been involved in the programme of talks and debates.

The gardens will be bustling with top quality Street Food and local food producers are showcasing Scotland’s natural larder to both locals and visitors alike. The festival offers revellers the chance to engage with producers and sample extraordinary Street Food.
The brand new food festival, which is in its first year, is supported by EventScotland, VisitScotland and Scotland Food & Drink as part of the Year of Food and Drink Scotland 2015.

As well as the varied food offering, festival-goers can also enjoy free talks and also debates in the iconic Spiegeltent. A ticketed programme of entertainment is on offer including Edinburgh-based comic Hardeep Singh Kohli, cutting edge cabaret show Le Haggis, award winning Scottish fiddler, composer and producer Aidan O’Rourke and the all female four piece folk band, The Poozies.
