South Scotland MSP Emma Harper has congratulated organisers of the Stranraer Oyster Festival on a successful event.
The Festival – which is the first of its kind in Scotland – took place last weekend (15th – 17th September), and included appearances from Chef John Henry, and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli.
Commenting, Ms Harper said:
“I was proud to attend, & celebrate and promote – on social media – the Stranraer Oyster Festival.
“I was lucky enough to taste my new friend Hardeep Singh Kholi’s delicious Oyster Pakora when I was in the audience for his extremely entertaining live cooking demonstration.
“I also attended the Wild Food Foraging, with Mark Williams which was very enlightening. I now know more about which wild plants are edible.
“I tasted the wonderful Loch Ryan Oysters, my first time, and sampled a huge variety of excellent local food & drink.
“I want to extend a muckle thank you to all the organisers and participants and recommend everyone plan to attend this fantastic event next year”.
