Organisers of Lockerbie’s Rockerbie Music Festival, which was due to be held in September at Lockerbie Town Hall, have announced that due to the Covid-19 Pandemic they have had to cancel this year’s festival.
A spokesperson for the popular event stated on the Festivals Facebook page “This is the hardest post I’ve had to write, been holding off as long as possible with this.
Due to the social distancing restrictions that will be in place in September, it is going to be impossible to run Rockerbie this year.Back at the start of March when I rescheduled the original date I was sure that the country would have been well over it by September. Unfortunately this has not been the case so the only course of action is to leave it until the Spring of next year.
I have a date of 17th April 2021 pencilled in, just awaiting confirmation. Rest assured that if you have already purchased your tickets they will still be valid. If, however, you won’t be able to attend and would like a refund please get in touch and I will sort it out.
The bands already booked will all hopefully be coming.
Next year will be the tenth year of Rockerbie and was going to be a mega celebration, now we are going to have to fit two years party into one night.
Stay fit and healthy and see you next year!”
