Following last week’s announcement about a brand new, home-grown festival for Dumfries & Galloway, the Doonhame Festival is pleased to announce that the three-day event will be taking place in the beautiful and historic grounds if the Crichton in Dumfries.
“We are so delighted that the Crichton has agreed to host our new festival,” says joint Festival Director, Sandy Sweetman.
“The site has been on our radar since day one as a perfect setting. With the backdrop of the stunning Crichton Church, the grounds, the accessibility and existing infrastructure, it’s what most festivals dream of!”
Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust, says: “We are thrilled to welcome the first Doonhame Festival to The Crichton this September. We hope the festival will become a key date in Scotland’s annual festival diary and introduce new people to our extraordinary place and welcome back regulars to experience all The Crichton offers, as a stunning backdrop to a new family friendly music festival.”“We are passionate about widening access and opportunity for people to discover The Crichton and can think of no better way than three great days of music, dancing, camping, food and drink, all helping fulfil our core mission to connect people, place and the past to shape the future”.
