Now in its 3rd year Thornhill Music Festival runs from 1st May until the 3rd May 2015.
Once again the festival brings a rich and diverse programme of music to the village including acclaimed Blues artist Aynsley Lister . The weekend boasts a cross section of music from Country Rock and Blues , Ska , Rock, Indie , Blues funk ,Eclectic Americana as well as singer songwriters . The festival has now become an established part of the local festival scene in Dumfries and Galloway .
TMF committee member Iain Renicks said ” Its a great achievement to be able to stage this festival for a third year , we hope that everyone will support the festival and the venues as they have in the first two years” .
The festival rely’ s on a formula of local acts and acts from Scotland and the North of England . Among the local acts taking part will be Lauren Dalgleish , Bad Reputation, The Stefan, Barstow Bats , Sticks and Stones and Cammy Black.
The festival also organises a “Rockschool” event for 11-16 year old hosted by Robert Maitland and some of the top musicians taking part in the festival.
Once again this year the festival has been supported primarily by Scottish Hydro Clyde Dumfries and Galloway Community Fund and DGHP.
