It was a smaller than usual crowd, due to weather and various nasty bugs about, for the final meeting of 2023 for the Dumfries Accordion and Fiddle Club at the Crichton Golf Club on Tuesday 5th December.
Guest artiste was the ever popular and versatile accordionist Gavin Piper who produced a well-balanced
selection of tunes of all genres and a programme enjoyed by all.
Many requested tunes were granted, along with popular and favourite tunes of all tempos.
Compere, John Caskie, Secretary thanked Gavin for the excellent music and wished him continued success in his music career.
John had earlier introduced the following players to perform:
Bob Watson
Stuart Faulds
Ian Woods
John Douglas
John Waugh
Newby Park
And Gavin Foster on accordions.
William Little on whistle.
Billy Porter and Rob Dorrance on Drums.
William McRobert accompanied all the local and supporting players on piano.
Thanks were extended to all players and the appreciative audience who braved the cold weather to support the Club.
The Dumfries Accordion and Fiddle Club resume on Tuesday 6th February 2024 when Dumbarton based
William Scott will be guest artiste.
John Caskie wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The DA&FC is open to anyone interested in attending and listening to the music and / or brining an instrument along and joining in the programme.
