A new LGBT+ Choir is taking place in Dumfries at the Loreburne Hall on Wednesday 6th October from 6pm until 8pm.
The project is part of Dumfries Community Choir’s annual programme of events and the Together Again season with Dumfries and Galloway Unlimited. The workshop is open to anyone who identifies as LBGT+ and their allies. It is hoped that the new project will provide a social space for members of the LGBTQ+ community who want to connect with each other.
The free event is non-audition, and open to anyone. Anyone who’s interested can register by visiting www.bigburnssupper.com/lgbtqchoir or by calling 01387 733717.
Gary Cameron, the new artistic director of Dumfries Community Choir said:
“Singing is a great social activity and we’ve created this programme to help members of our community feel safe, and be able to express themselves in a safe space.”
Composer Gary Cameron’s credits include National Theatre of Scotland, BBC and Macrobert Arts Centre.
Dumfries Community Choir and LGBTQ+ Choir Dumfries and Galloway are part of Big Burns Supper group of companies.
