Up Yer Airts Is Excited To Support A Brand New Pub Festival To Take Over Dumfries Town Centre #supportlivemusicdgDumfries Town Centre is set to come alive with free live music across some of the best venues the town has to offer.
Hidden Gem Festival is a free to attend music festival set to take over Dumfries pubs and clubs on the 14th September 2024. The festival aims to help promote grassroots venues, artists and bring the local community closer together.
The day will be set across 4 of the town’s venues including: The Riverside Tap, The Coach and Horses, The Douglas Arms and The White Hart. The day will start at 12pm and end on a high with DJs carrying the town into the night. A total of 15 acts will grace the stages across the day.
The day will see a mix of local and national talent with the line up including High Priestess and The Lutras alongside Glaswegian punk band Soapbox, who are fresh off the stage at this year’s TRNSMT Festival. The festival boasts a 50/50 split of local to national artists, aiming to support local musicians to perform on home turf while showcasing to Dumfries as a music destination to both artists and audiences across Scotland.
Hidden Gem aspires to become an annual featured event in Dumfries and Galloway’s cultural calendar, with this year’s pilot festival just a taste of what is to come.
Hidden Gem Festival is working in partnership with the UP YER AIRTS movement to pitch Dumfries and Galloway as a touring destination for musicians embarking on their national tours and are keen to support young artists, managers, technicians and more.
UP YER AIRTS is a groundbreaking initiative empowering young people to curate vibrant cultural events and refine their craft as arts and creative industry professionals in Dumfries and Galloway. As an organisation led by young people, they are out to push the boundaries of what is possible for our region and are delighted to be supporting the Hidden Gem Festival.
With more acts to be announced, Hidden Gem Festival welcomes support from local organisations to bring music back to the heart of Dumfries. Music lovers, pub goers and everyone else in between are invited to this brand new free to access event.
