Galloway Roots Country Festival has a little over 4 weeks until its inaugural weekend at the Millennium Centre in Stranraer. With a line up worthy of any established festival this is one not to be missed.
Taking place from Friday the 18th of October through to Sunday the 20th, Supported by Dumfrieas and Galloway Arts Festival Arts Live programme and being housed in the newly refurbished Millennium centre with its £1 million makeover, Country music comes to the far corner of South West Scotland.
Festival Co-Organiser and Compere for the weekend Ali Donowho of ‘Country In My Veins’ radio Show said “ It is such an exciting prospect to bring some of the UK’s finest Country Music talent to this corner of South West Scotland but also being able to showcase some local musicians as well, we definitely feel there is something for everyone”
Featuring Ags Connolly, Katee Kross and the Amberjax, Kerry Fearon, Zoe., Sam Coe and The Long Shadows all who have featured at major Country festivals in the UK and Abroad Plus headliners in Trevor Loughrey (Friday) and the The Illegal Eagles (Saturday) Plus local Acts The Hollies, Lowdown Highway, Check The Diary, Panache and Jennifer McMaster. The weekend culminates with a Hog Roast Jam on the Sunday for a sing along munch along, bring your guitars, fiddles and vocal tones as well as your eating trousers.
