The Excitement for Stranraer RNLI’s Parkfest 2015 is building up as they announce another act for the line-up for Agnew park on Saturday 22nd August 2015
Aura consists of two lively, young girls, Jana McCarthy and Eimear Dynes from the little town of Portaferry in the North of Ireland.
The name ‘Aura’ signifies the distinct atmosphere these girls create with their ability to acoustically cover contemporary country, pop and traditional Irish music with their own unique style.
Starting off singing at weddings and in local Portaferry bars, the girls have progressed to entertaining in the city clubs of Belfast.
Influenced from a young age by artists such as Carrie Underwood, The Dixie Chicks, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran and many more they have modelled and shared their innovative and distinctive style around Northern Ireland.
Throughout many years of friendship forged by their mutual love and passion for music, Eimear and Jana have enjoyed every performance together and continue to strive towards achieving great success.
A spokesperson for the festival stated “Park Fest 2015 is our 6th festival, hard to believe! Since its invention in 2010 it has become one of Stranraer’s most popular annual live music and entertainment events.
It is an event created to not only raise funds for the RNLI but to raise the profile of the Stranraer Lifeboat, give our community an event that could involve all, of all ages, and we hope this has been achieved.
Park Fest is run solely by volunteers – the RNLI’s Stranraer fund raising branch (Park Fest Team), the Stranraer Station and Lifeboat Crew. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all who have helped in any way whatsoever, whether it be by donating, sponsoring, giving their time and skills or providing a service and equipment – but of course, mostly YOU, who come along spend your money.
